César Chávez Day of Service EventsMarch 31st marks the official California holiday to celebrate the life of civil rights leader and labor activist, César Chávez. During this time, community groups, schools, organizations and individuals nationwide will commemorate his legacy through education, celebration and a day of service. You can work at a food bank, teach a child, help a co-worker or any act of public service to make the world a better place in César Chávez’s memory.

Please join me at either of the following events to honor his legacy with a day of service:

Please join me and Valley Clean Air Now at an upcoming "Tune In & Tune Up" car cleanup event.

Bring your car in for an emissions test at no charge. The first 525 vehicles that qualify will receive a $500 voucher for smog repair. Complimentary food and refreshments will be available to participants.

There will also be an opportunity to discuss my bills, AB 188 which would make light-duty trucks eligible for the state’s vehicle retirement and replacement programs.
