Valley residents may be eligible to receive incentives to repair or replace their high polluting vehicles!

Bring your car or truck in for an emissions test at no charge. The first 525 vehicles that qualify will receive a $500 voucher for repairs at a participating STAR smog shop. Complimentary food and refreshments will be available to participants, while supplies last.

After hearing from folks at past Tune In and Tune Up events, I passed a bill in 2017  – AB 188 – that will help get more high polluting vehicles off the road by making light-duty trucks that fail emissions tests qualify for the state's vehicle retirement and replacement programs. I hope to see you at the event and look forward to hearing from you!

Fifth Annual Car Seat Safety Check

In partnership with the California Highway Patrol, I am hosting my fifth annual Car Seat Safety Check-Up event to help parents ensure the safety of their children.  Specially trained technicians will be available to inspect car seats and make sure that they are properly installed and equipped. It is estimated that 73% of car seats are not used or installed correctly. Technicians will also demonstrate proper installation methods to ensure each child is properly secured in their seat.

The event is free and no appointment is needed. Attendees are welcome to bring questions about public safety and other important legislative issues. I hope to see you there!

Stuff the Bus Graphic

Come to "Stuff the Bus," a school supply drive, and help make sure that schoolchildren have the supplies that they need to succeed. The school supply drive will collect backpacks, pencils, notebooks, and other items to support students in local schools.

Too many students do not even have these supplies when they go back to school. With your help, we are working to remedy that situation.
