Salas Re-Appointed to Key Chairmanship
Chair, Assembly Committee on Business and Professions
SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblymember Rudy Salas (D-Bakersfield) was selected to serve as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Business and Professions by Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood). Salas previously served as Chairman of the committee during the last legislative year.
“I am thankful that Speaker Rendon has given me the opportunity to continue to lead the policy that governs our business practices,” said Assemblymember Salas. “These issues require thoughtful and intentional leadership as we strive to grow California's economy through government efficiency, oversight and regulatory reform.”
The primary jurisdiction of the Assembly Committee on Business and Professions includes the creation, oversight, and elimination of regulatory entities within the Department of Consumer Affairs, professional licensing, vocational education, building standards, and product labeling.
Assemblymember Salas represents part of the City of Bakersfield, the cities of Arvin, Avenal, Corcoran, Delano, Hanford, Lemoore, McFarland, Shafter, Wasco, and the communities of Armona, Buttonwillow, Home Garden, Kettleman City, Lamont, Lost Hills, Stratford and Weedpatch.
