Assemblymember Rudy Salas to Serve on Accountability, Governmental Organization, and Veteran Affairs Committees


Sacramento – Yesterday, Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez selected Assemblymember Rudy Salas (D-Bakersfield) to serve on the Accountability and Administrative Review Committee, Governmental Organization Committee, and Veterans Affairs Committee.

The Accountability and Administrative Review Committee's jurisdictions are identifying savings and efficiencies in the management of state government, reviewing and studying the implementation, operation, and effectiveness of state programs and agencies.

The Government Organization Committee's jurisdictions include alcohol, Indian gaming, horseracing, gambling, tobacco, public records, open meetings laws, outdoor advertising and emergency services/natural disasters.

The Veterans Affairs Committee's jurisdictions are the Cal-Vet loan program, Department of Veterans Affairs, National Guard, State military, and Veterans.

"I am looking forward to working on these important issues and finding ways to streamline government, protect our veterans, minimize over burdensome regulations and providing cost effective services," said Assemblymember Salas.

Assemblymember Salas represents part of the City of Bakersfield, the cities of Hanford, Corcoran, Delano, Lemoore, McFarland, Shafter, Wasco and the communities of Armona, Avenal, Buttonwillow, Kettleman City, Lamont, Lost Hills, Stratford and Weedpatch.
