BAKERSFIELD - Assemblymember Rudy Salas (D-Bakersfield) held a Kern County Business Roundtable today in Bakersfield. The event provided an opportunity to discuss issues facing the business community and what legislative proposals can assist local businesses to hire more individuals.
“The roundtable allowed me to hear directly from local business leaders and be informed of their concerns as I prepare to enter the 2014 legislative session,” said Assemblymember Salas. “A healthy business community is vital to a healthy economy and getting people hired for jobs,” concluded Salas.
The event was held at the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce. Attendees included business owners and Chamber staff from throughout the 32nd Assembly District.
Since being sworn in, Assemblymember Salas has made it a top priority to ensure that residents in the Central Valley have the training, skills, and jobs to succeed.
Assemblymember Salas was one of the highest rated legislators on the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 State Scorecard (85.7%).
Assemblymember Salas represents part of the City of Bakersfield, the cities of Arvin, Avenal, Corcoran, Delano, Hanford, Lemoore, McFarland, Shafter, Wasco and the communities of Armona, Buttonwillow, Home Garden, Kettleman City, Lamont, Lost Hills, Stratford and Weedpatch.
